Jobs Losses in Sweden

Swedish Born and operated company Ikea has cut 5000 jobs worldwide due to the recession and its effect on the housing market. No clear number on how many job losses in Sweden itself but as soon as we find out we will let you know. Ikea employs 130,000 people worldwide.

Sweden’s SKF today 30th of June, 2009 has decleared that its cutting a further 900 jobs thoughout it worldwide operation. SKF is the worlds largest producer of ball bearings and its known to produce the ball bearings used in Ferrari’s Formula 1 Cars. This  cut is on top of 4800 job cuts though its operations in Britain, Italy, India and Sweden.

While this is all happening Volvo a swedish manufacturer of buses, cars and truck has saved a further 335 jobs by lowering working hours and salaries which saved 600 jobs last month.
